How To Fight With Dandruff

Dandruff is a common complain, especially in the winters.Since most people wash their hair with warm water during the winter season, this often causes the scalp to become dry and flaky.


What can Cause Dandruff?


Many factors such as stress or a bad diet. A dry scalp may be due to a deficiency in protein in the diet and a greasy scalp, due to over production of sebum or oil producing flaking on the scalp. One usually develops dry dandruff in cold weather and greasy dandruff when it's warm.



Sometimes it can be a very embarrassing problem and at the same time difficult to treat. Here are some home remedies which can be helpful to fight with dandruff.


Massaging lemon juice to the scalp can help eliminate the problematic flakes of dandruff. Massage the juice into the hair and leave it for 15-20 minutes, and then rinse off with plain water. Repeat every day for better result.


The acidic and conditioning properties of Curd (dahi) helps to fight dandruff. Ferment a small amount of curd (enough to cover your scalp) for two days. Apply it and leave for 1 hour. Wash it off with a mild shampoo. Repeat this atleast twice a week for better result.


Crush two tablets of aspirin into a fine powder and add it to the amount of shampoo that you would use to wash your hair. Once it's in lather, let it remain in the hair for 1-2 minutes and then rinse. Then wash the hair again with normal shampoo in order to eliminate any powder that may remain. This is because aspirin contains salicylates, which is the active ingredient in dandruff shampoos that contain salicylic acid.



An apple a day keeps the doctor away. Well, it can keep your dandruff away too! It has anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties. Make a paste with equal quantities of apple and orange and apply it on the scalp. Wash your hair after 20-30 minutes with a shampoo.

Replace your shampoo with baking soda for a few weeks; vigorously rub a handful of baking soda into the scalp and rinse thoroughly. Repeat as you would in your regular schedule of washing your hair.

Natural oils like coconut, almond or olive can be used to keep the scalp moisturised and prevent dandruff. Simply warm up some oil in a bowl and apply with a scalp massage, ensuring that the entire scalp is covered. Wrap the hair and scalp in a towel and leave the oil on overnight. Then rinse the hair in the morning.

Aloe vera gel contains healing, antibacterial and anti-fungal properties. Applying fresh aloe vera gel on the scalp keeps dandruff at bay. Keep the gel on for 30 minutes and wash off.

Neem has the antiseptic property, which helps in getting rid of dandruff. Apply neem leaves paste on your scalp to fight dandruff as it is a very effective home remedy. Neem leaves is successful in treating lice, treating dandruff and many other eruptions on the scalp.

Tea tree oil is a natural home remedy for dandruff. Tea tree oil has natural antiseptic and antibiotic properties, which make it best to get rid of dandruff. You can apply tea tree oil directly to the scalp, or add few drops to your regular shampoo.

Reetha, which is soap nut, is an ideal solution to get rid of dandruff. You can use powder of reetha and make a paste out of it. Apply for two hours and rinse it off. This way you can treat dandruff at home.


There are few packs which can be easily prepared at home. These packs are very useful to fight with dandruff.


Lemon and Garlic 

Mix 1 tbsp. of lemon juice with 2 tbsp. of garlic. Apply paste to the scalp. Lemon juice will help you to get rid of flakes. Garlic is a natural antibiotic and is best to kill the bacteria on the scalp. Leave this anti dandruff treatment on scalp for 20 to 30 minutes and then shampoo your hair.


Egg-yoghurt pack

A mixture of egg yolk and sour yoghurt also nourishes hair strands and stimulates the oil balance of the scalp. Apply the mixture on the scalp for half-an-hour. Then rinse and shampoo.


Beetroot leaves and Henna

Crush beetroot leaves in heena powder to make a paste. Apply this mixture to remove dandruff.


Besan and Curd 

Mix 4 tbsp. Chickpea Flour also known as besan in curd to make thick paste. Apply on the scalp and leave it for an hour. You can few drops of lemon to get rid of oil of curd. This is a good home remedy to treat dandruff.

How To Fight With Hair Fall




Hello Everyone, now a days most of us are facing some common hair related problems. One of the most common issue is “Hair fall”. If you want to fight and reduce hair fall, You would need to root cause it. Meaning first you have to find out what is the cause behind it. There are some possible reasons which generally causes hair fall,

Here are some tips which can help to reduce hair fall.

Hot oil treatments: Take any natural oil - olive, coconut - and heat it up so that it is warm, but not too hot. Massage it gently into your scalp. Put on a shower cap and leave it on for an hour, then shampoo your hair.




Natural juices: You can rub your scalp with either garlic juice, onion juice or ginger juice. Leave it on overnight and wash it thoroughly in the morning.





Get a head massage: Massaging your scalp for a few minutes daily will help stimulate circulation. Good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Circulation may be improved through massage by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base.
